How texting consent works
Every text sent through Callwake goes to someone who contacted the business first and agreed to be texted. This page documents the three ways consent is collected, the exact wording used, and how people opt out.

1. Missed-call texts (customer-initiated)
A missed-call text is only ever sent to the phone number that just called the business.
- The customer calls the business's published phone number. Nobody answers after a few rings and the carrier forwards the call to the business's dedicated toll-free text line.
- Before the call ends, the caller hears this recorded notice: "Hi, you've reached [Business]. We're on a job and can't pick up right now. We'll text you from this number in a few seconds so we can help. Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Thanks!"
- Within seconds, the first text arrives from the same toll-free number and includes opt-out and help instructions: "[Business]: Sorry we missed your call! This is our text line — what do you need help with? Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
- The conversation continues only while the customer keeps replying (typically 2–6 messages), using answers the business approved in advance. If the customer does not reply, at most one gentle follow-up is sent, then the conversation ends.

2. Quote follow-ups (express written consent)
Quote reminders are sent only to customers who gave express consent, in one of two ways:
- By ticking this box on the quote the business sent them: "Text me updates about this quote. Up to 3 reminders (day 2, 5 and 9). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See callwake.com/messaging-terms."
- Or by replying YES to a single confirmation text: "[Business]: Hi [Name], want text updates about your [job] quote? Reply YES to agree (up to 3 msgs). Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
Consent is recorded with a timestamp. At most three reminders are sent (day 2, 5 and 9), and the sequence stops the moment the customer replies.

3. The Callwake demo line
Prospective customers can try the service on Callwake's own demo line. They request the number through the form on callwake.com by ticking "Send me the demo line number", then call it from their own phone. They hear this notice: "Hi, this is the Callwake demo line. In a few seconds you'll get a text from this number showing exactly what your customers would receive. Reply STOP at any time to opt out." The demo texts go only to the phone that called, and the conversation is limited to a few messages.

Message content and frequency
- Every message begins with the business name. No marketing blasts, no purchased lists, no messages to anyone who did not contact the business first.
- Missed-call conversations: typically 2–6 messages. Quote follow-ups: up to 3 reminders. Msg & data rates may apply.
Opting out and getting help
- Reply STOP to any message. Confirmation sent once: "[Business]: You're opted out and won't get more texts from this number. Reply START to opt back in."
- Reply HELP to any message: "[Business] text line, powered by Callwake. Reply STOP to opt out. Need a person? Call [business phone] or email support@callwake.com. Msg & data rates may apply."
- Opt-outs are honored immediately and apply to all future messages from that business line.
Records
For each conversation Callwake keeps the time of the call, the calling number, the notice that was played, any quote-consent timestamp, and the full message log, so that consent can be demonstrated on request.
